The Awakening Standard / የንቃት መስፈርት

Principle Operational meaning
🔎 Truth before tribe No ethnic, religious, political, gender or generational identity receives exemption from evidence or accountability.
❤️ Truth with love The mirror is held to illuminate and repair—not to humiliate, dehumanize or create a new enemy.
⚖️ Suffering + agency Honor every group's capacity to suffer while also acknowledging every group's capacity to harm.
🧠 Evidence before certainty Separate fact, strong evidence, inference, hypothesis, testimony, disputed interpretation and symbolic/spiritual meaning.
🪞 Self-examination before accusation Ask what pattern exists in us, our families, institutions and incentives before projecting all causation outward.
🏛️ Systems before saviors Do not replace institution-building with leader worship, personality cults or permanent rescue narratives.
🤝 Ubuntu + boundaries “I am because we are” means dignity, reciprocity and repair—not silence in front of lies, abuse or injustice.
🛠️ Build after insight Knowledge should produce a better decision, behavior, institution, service, enterprise, dialogue or safeguard.

Four-Lens Reading Rule / አራት የንባብ መነጽሮች

When a topic is controversial, examine it through all four lenses rather than forcing one explanation:

  1. Empirical / Historical: What is documented, measured, dated or independently observable?
  2. Psychological / Social: What incentives, projections, status dynamics, trauma responses or group processes may help explain behavior?
  3. Systems / Political-Economic: What institutions, rules, resource flows, power relations, dependencies and feedback loops shape the outcome?
  4. Symbolic / Spiritual: What meaning does a tradition, myth or esoteric framework offer—clearly labeled as interpretation rather than empirical proof?
